The St. Augustine Amphitheatre welcomes singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
The Washington Post recognizes Jamey Johnson as one of the premier country vocalists of the era. After four years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, Johnson relocated to Nashville in 2000 to embark on his musical journey. Johnson honed his craft by recording demo tapes and penning tunes for fellow artists.
Notable early credits include "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" for Trace Adkins and "My Cowboy" for Jessie James. By 2005, Johnson signed a deal with BNA Records and earned 11 Grammy nominations.
In 2012, the Alabama native paid homage to the late songwriter Hank Cochran with his fifth studio album, Living for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran. This endeavor featured collaborations with iconic artists such as Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, and Merle Haggard.
Johnson's discography includes They Call Me Country, The Dollar, That Lonesome Song, and Living For A Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran.
