Apex Theatre Studio: Miss Beth

Apex Theatre Studio stages Miss Beth in the Black Box Theatre located at 425 W. Town Place, Unit 112 in the World Golf Village area on Thursday, October 27 and Friday, October 28, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.

Written by The Actors Studio alumni, Don Zolidis, Miss Beth is a recreation of Shakespeare's Macbeth—the story of a Scottish general who believes a trio of witches' prophecy and goes to any means necessary to ensure that the prophecy occurs rapidly and on his terms. Beth a.k.a. Miss Beth finds herself in a similar prediction.  

One night, she and friends pull out a Ouija board and discover that Beth is about to become assistant captain of the cheerleading team. As a result, Beth pushes forward with the Ouija-board-premonition. However, Zolidis strays from "Shakespearian tradition," making light of the upcoming consequences with humor. Supernatural events, Beth's popularity-chasing mom, and best friend, contribute to Beth's moral compass going berserk. Sending her down a wrong lane, Beth is left with feelings of uncertainty at its crowded intersection. 

Under the direction of Ian Mairs, Apex Theatre is a nonprofit theater education center where students ages 14 to 21 hone their skills as artists. Since its inception in 2013, the theater group has staged more than 40 student-led productions.

Admission: Tickets are $8.00 and can be purchased online.
