Apex Theatre Studio's The Bard Bus will present Hamlet in 75 at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, January 7 & 8, 2022, at the Backyard Stage at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.

A retelling of Shakespeare's most famous tragedy set in the backwoods of Northeast Florida, Hamlet in 75 refers to the running time of the performance, says Ian Mairs, Managing Director of Apex Theatre Studio.

"We do a lot of school shows, and that is an ideal running time for young audiences," Mairs says. "We hope families will venture out to take in this show under the winter stars."

The production features Apex students, faculty, and guest artists. New York-based actor, Nick Case, plays the title role. A graduate of Penn State's prestigious theater program, Case has appeared in regional theaters across the country.

Now in its fourth year, the Bard Bus has been an ongoing project for Apex Theatre Studio. The Bard Bus presents contemporary touring productions of Shakespeare's plays for audiences in the North Florida/South Georgia region.
