Ballyhoo, Cydeways, & Beachfly at Cafe Eleven

Cafe Eleven presents Ballyhoo, Cydeways, & Beachfly in their listening room on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 8:00 p.m.

Ballyhoo!, a Maryland band, is known for fusing reggae, punk, pop, and alternative rock. The group features Scott Vandrey on keyboards, programming, and vocals; Nick Lucera on bass; Donald Spangler on drums; and Howi Spangler on guitar and vocals. Since the 1990s, Ballyhoo! started after signing with Hooligan Records and has since built a loyal following.

With more than 300,000 listeners on streaming platforms like Spotify, Ballyhoo! has taken its high-energy performances to the seas on Caribbean cruises and to major festivals such as The Bamboozle Festival and The California Roots Music and Arts Festival. It has also toured with notable acts like Reel Big Fish, Rebelution, Authority Zero, Slightly Stoopid, and more.

Their discography includes fan favorites such as 365-Day Weekend, Do It For The Money!, Cheers!, Daydreams, Pineapple Grenade, Girls, Detonate Right, Message to the World, and Shellshock.

Also making waves in the alt-reggae scene is Cydeways, a high-energy band signed to Law Records. Known for popular tracks like “Shadows” and “Lockdown,” Cydeways combines reggae rhythms with alternative rock for a fresh, engaging sound. Their releases include But It Ain’t House Music, After Hours, and their latest album, Cydeways.

Bringing mellow vibes and beach-inspired rhythms, Beachfly creates laid-back reggae tunes that capture the essence of surf culture. Their uplifting singles include “Crazy,” “Get in the Water,” “Thinking of You,” and “Real Love.”
