Annual Cracker Day Festival

The St. Johns County Cattlemen's Association will host its Annual Cracker Day Festival on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds in Elkton.

Cracker Day showcases and honors cracker horses, which were brought to the Americas by the Spanish. This family-friendly event includes activities, craft vendors, cowboys, pony rides, snacks, and horse races. A farmer's market featuring boutiques, local products, and wooden furniture and décor will last from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Local riders of all ages will participate in several horse games:

• Pole Bending
• Pick Up Race
• Cloverleaf
• Arena Race
• Flat Races
• Jackpot Barrels
• Jackpot Poles

Food and drinks are available for purchase from food trucks.

Pets are welcome to attend, and parking is available.

Admission: $5.00 per vehicle (cash only). Registration to compete in the horse games ranges from $5.00 to $15.00. Camping is $25.00 per night.

When: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024. Gates open at 6:00 a.m. for the competitors.
