Dark Star Orchestra (DSO) brings their spectacular live show to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. This tribute band to the Grateful Dead plays all their shows based on sets from the Grateful Dead's extensive catalogue. They also use the catalog of original songs and often played covers to create a unique set list for the show.
Dark Star Orchestra has been praised by such publications at Rolling Stone who claimed their attention to detail (in the shows) was "fanatical." The Associated Press says that "Dark Star Orchestra takes its act to a level of detail that befits a rock band famous for its fanatical following." Dark Star Orchestra's dedication to "raising the dead" has taken them across the country performing nearly 2200 shows since the band formed over 15 years ago!
This excellent band performs Grateful Dead classics in much the same way that an orchestra interprets music of classical composers. The composer spirit is derived and channeled as the players capture the excitement and innovation of the original performances and compositions. Parking Information: Parking will be available onsite. There will be a $5 parking fee for ticketed events and for free events parking will also be free. For events not produced by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, parking fees will be at the discretion of the event producer.
