The English Beat with Special Guests The Skatalites

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents British ska revivalists The English Beat with special guests The Skatalites in concert on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 8:00 p.m.

The English Beat's unique sound has appealed to fans of all ages for nearly three decades now. The original band consisted of singer-songwriter Dave Wakeling on vocals and guitar, Andy Cox on guitar, David Steele on bass, and Everett Morton on drums - later additions Ranking Roger (toasting) and foundational First Wave Ska legend Saxa (saxophone) completed the outfit.

Jamaican ska pioneers The Skatalites began performing in 1964 in Jamaica, and, after achieving legendary status as backups for such artists as Toots and The Maytals, Prince Buster, and "The Wailing Wailers," they have continued to perform all over the  world in their inimitable Jamaican style.

Admission: General Admission Standing tckets are $17.00 if purchased in advance and $32.00 if purchased on the day of the show.

When: Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 8:00 p.m. Gates open at 7:00 p.m.

Where: The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is located at 1050 A1A North in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Parking Information: Parking will be available onsite. There will be a $5 parking fee for ticketed events and for free events parking will also be free. For events not produced by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, parking fees will be at the discretion of the event producer.
