The Magic Flute

First Coast Opera presents fully staged performances of The Magic Flute, on March 21 and 22, 2025, in the Kirk Memorial Auditorium at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. The Friday performance begins at 7:30 p.m., and the Saturday performance begins at 4:00 p.m. Both productions offer a pre-show talk, open to all ticket holders, beginning one hour before each show.

The Magic Flute was First Coast Opera's first performance, 25 years ago. Mozart wrote his last opera as a "Singspiel," with singing and spoken dialogue. The story and the melodies are magical, captivating audience members. During these performances, the dialogue is English, while the singing is German, and there will be projected titles.  

Conducted by Curtis Tucker, this is a fully staged show with an orchestra. Each performance includes a pre-show talk that begins one hour before the opera.

The 2024/25 season marks the 25th anniversary of First Coast Opera. The organization serves Northeast Florida with professional opera performances for the community's education, cultural enhancement, and enjoyment. They strive to offer artistic excellence and are committed to developing local talent.
