Step back in time at this one-of-a-kind seminar discussing the history of St. Augustine in the First World War (1914-1918). On Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Flagler College's visiting German history professor, Dr. Helmut Flachenecker, will lead a lecture deep-diving into the war's positive and negative effects on the tourism industry and the community's daily lives.

The seminar lecture is from 9:00 to 11:15 a.m. followed by a short two-block walk to Flagler College's grandeur dining hall — formerly Ponce de Leon Hotel. A buffet lunch will be provided from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more event details and information, visit here.

Admission: This 18+ event costs $40.00 with lunch included. Participants must register first.

Where: The lecture will take place at Pollard Hall, located at 31 Cordova Street, and the luncheon will be at Flagler College's dining hall at 74 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida 32084.
