Flagler College Theatre Arts Department: Measure for Measure

Flagler College Theatre Arts Department presents Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare on Wednesday, October 19 to Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m at the Lewis Auditorium. 

Shakespeare's most discussed play, Measure for Measure, is the story surrounding a duke who walks away from governing the city and state while employing Angelo, an administrator on his team, requesting that he diligently enforce the laws. Utilizing his newfound power, Angelo chooses to impose death upon those who do not follow his line of thinking and way of being. 

Newly adapted and directed by Dathan Williams, Measure for Measure transitions into the exploration of ideologies surrounding forgiveness and mercy, which integrate love into the mix of conflict, creating a harmonious balance. In opposition, Williams alludes to questions surrounding Shakespeare's setting, a male dominated government where an overabundance of power can lead to corruption among the masses. 

Admission: $15 general admission; $5 non-Flagler students; free for Flagler College students and employees. Tickets are available to purchase online.
