The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department offers a series of five free clinics that will explore the basics about freshwater fishing in Florida. Freshwater Fishing 101 covers everything from fishing regulations to what bait to use and how to tie knots in fishing line. The clinics will take place on Wednesdays from January 8 to February 5, 2020.
The workshops will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on each Wednesday from January 8 to February 5, 2020 (see schedule below). Participants are free to attend just one or the whole series of clinics, which will be held at Alpine Groves Park on the St. Johns River.
Please note that all participants must have a Freshwater Fishing License of be a Florida resident age 65 and over. Visit here to obtain a fishing license.
Guests are asked to bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and a water bottle, as well as a fishing rod and reel and fishing line.
