The Golf Ball Drop and Putting Tournament at World Golf Village will benefit the St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS). This event is in conjunction with the Blue Ribbon Campaign to recognize April as the National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) offers the chance for visitors to participate in a thrilling golf ball drop event and more at this fundraising event! SAYS will drop 1,000 golf balls from a helicopter onto the replica 17th hole at the World Golf Village course. The first golf ball to either go in the hole and/or make it as close as possible will win $1,500! Each ball will be numbered and there is an entrance fee. One golf ball will cost $20 or six golf balls will be $100. The ball drop will be at 7:30 p.m.
This event will also include a 9-hole putting tournament with a cash prize of $500 for the lowest score. Entrance fees to the putting tournament will be $25 per participant. In case of two or more same low scores there will be a "putt off" to determine the winner!
Guests can also enjoy a ticketed cocktail party after at the World Golf Hall of Fame from 5 pm - 8 pm. The after-party will feature beer, wine, and appetizers. Visitors can come out and enjoy this fun event! Participants in the golf ball drop do not need to be present to claim their prize. If the prize is not claimed in 30 days then the prize will be awarded to the next winner in line.
About St. Augustine Youth Services: This organization provides therapeutic residential services to boys, ages 6 - 17, many of who have been the victims of child abuse and /or extreme neglect. SAYS provides the children with a stable home in which to live, learn, grow, and heal.
Blue Ribbon Campaign Story: The Blue Ribbon for Kids Campaign was created by the Wisconsin Children's Trust Fund, Child Abuse Prevention Fund of Children's Hospital and Health System, and Children's Service Society of Wisconsin's Prevent Child Abuse Wisconsin. These three non-for-profit organizations have helped the Blue Ribbon Campaign spread across the country and encourage citizens to wear the blue ribbon and/or pass them out at events geared towards keeping children safe and families strong.
