Grease Lightning
Grease Lightning, a Socially Distanced Sock Hop, supports local musicians and artists.
STart NOW invites visitors and locals to share the fun at a socially-distanced sock hop. Guests will be surrounded by classic cars from the 50s while listening to the songs from this iconic movie.
This fundraiser benefits STart NOW, the local organization dedicated to making sure that all artists and musicians in St. Augustine have the tools and the support they need to practice their craft. STart NOW helps the visual and musical artists who help make St. Augustine special — the people who perform in our venues and pubs, and the artists who capture St. Augustine and the world in paints, sculpture, and photography.
Some of these musicians, including Amy Hendrickson and Gentlemen's Crow, will perform at Grease Lightning and local dancers will help everyone swing into the mood. Those attending will be encouraged to dance, take photos of the antique cars, partake of the wrapped snacks, and enjoy the show.
Social distancing will be strongly encouraged. Masks are optional and will not be worn by the performers. Temperatures will be taken at the door. See the STart Now website for more information.
Tickets are $35.00 for adults and $20.00 for children. Grease Lightning takes place on Sunday, November 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
