The City of St. Augustine and the downtown businesses invite everyone to join them in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and festival to mark the grand reopening of Hypolita St.

Eight months after being closed for a complete streetscape redesign and major utilities upgrade, this historic downtown street will be reopened as part of the Hypolita Street Festival on Friday, December 5, 2014, from 4 - 9 p.m.

The festival features the ribbon-cutting ceremony and lots of special discounts and giveaway. There will be live entertainment on two stages - the first at the intersection of Hypolita and St. George Streets and the second adjacent to the Spice and Tea Exchange at 59 Hypolita St. The event takes place concurrently with the First Friday Art Walk in the downtown area.

The grand re-opening of Hypolita Street marks the completion of the Downtown Improvement District project's first phase. Treasury Street and Spanish Street are up next for a streetscape renovation and utilities upgrade.

Admission to the event is free.

When? Friday, December 5, 2014, from 4 - 9 p.m.

Where? At the intersection of Hypolita and St. George Streets.
