The I Have a Dream Walking Tour is offered by City Walks and Tour St. Augustine on Martin Luther King Day in 2017. The 1.5-hour tour celebrates King's legacy and focuses on St. Augustine's role in African-American history and culture, departing from the offices of Tour St. Augustine at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017.

The tour encompasses several historic blocks and invites participants to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as they visit locations that were significant in the struggle for Civil Rights in the 1960s.

St. Augustine's role in the Civil Rights Movement began with a sit-in at a local Woolworth's lunch counter in 1960, and continued through the next four years. Many heroes of the civil rights movement came here to demonstrate and lead protests along with the leaders of St. Augustine's black community. These struggles were an integral part of Dr. King's nationwide campaign that resulted in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Tour St. Augustine and City Walks Food & Wine Tours are St. Augustine's premier historic walking tour providers, with a variety of tours to choose from, including culinary tours, ghost tours, and specialty tours (including a monthly free pet-friendly "pup crawl"). They also offer custom group tour packages including local attractions & tours, events, accommodations, group dining transportation, entertainment and much more.
