Iris DeMent Concert

Singer/songwriter Iris DeMent will perform at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 8:00 p.m.

Since the release of her first album in 1992, Iris DeMent has been known for her rich, expressive voice, as well as for her themes that range from personal exploration to political activism.

Her songs have been covered by a number of artists, including 10,000 Maniacs and Alice Stuart, and have been included in movies (the Coen brothers' True Grit) and TV shows (Northern Exposure).

DeMent has sung duets with John Prine, Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris, and has been featured on compilation albums such as Tulare Dust - A Songwriters' Tribute to Merle Haggard, where she sang "Big City." She has also been a frequent performer on Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion.

Admission: Tickets are $32.75 for the first seven rows; $29.75 for all remaining rows.

When? Friday, January 23, 2015, 8:00 p.m. (gates open at 7:00 p.m.).
