On Friday, March 18, 2016, Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents The Johnny Clegg Band.

Born in England, but raised in then-Rhodesia, Clegg is one of South Africa's most celebrated artists and musicians. His rise to prominence saw him boldly making interracial, intercultural music during apartheid. While it was not necessarily ever his intention to be a political performer, his blending of Western pop and African rhythms, all while performing with both white and black bandmates, made his music inherently political. More than anything else, however, the Johnny Clegg Band continues to mix Western and African styles, Celtic, rock, Mbaqanga, and Afro-pop, to the delight of audiences worldwide.
