Visitors are invited to a special tour of the Lightner Museum and exclusive book-signing event with nationally acclaimed author, Harriet Baskas. Baskas is the author of the book, Hidden Treasures, What Museums Can't or Won't Show You. The novel explores how there are over 15,000 museums in the country and visitors only get to see about five percent of the institution's collection. Reservations are REQUIRED for this event.

The public is invited to enjoy this exciting event where guests can enjoy personal tours of the restricted and exclusive 4th floor of the Museum by Director, Robert Harper and Curator Barry Myers. Lightner Museum's private 4th floor used to be housing for the Hotel Alcazar staff but is now home to Otto Lightner's hidden treasures. According to the museum's director, Robert Harper, the 4th floor houses some "really bizarre artifacts."

Author Harriet Baskas is a regular contributor to MSNBC Travel and USA Today. She has published numerous books on Museum oddities and her recent books feature rarely seen items on the Lightner Museum's off-limits 4th floor. The tour and the book signing go hand in hand; as visitors can view the Lightner Museum's hidden treasures after reading the book on it!

Exciting Event! Refreshments will also be provided. The first floor of the museum will be open for guests to mingle and enjoy their refreshments.  To learn more about Baskas and her book please Visit Here. All proceeds from this event benefit the Lightner Museum.
