Limelight Theatre presents a live reading of The Diary of Adam and Eve, Mark Twain's delightful essays on what really transpired in Eden, on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.
Linda Hall relates Eve's version of events, including her musings about the other human in the garden, Adam. Linda has been a theater arts instructor, performer, and director and has appeared in more than 20 Limelight shows. Gerry Sanchez, new to the theater, portrays Snake. Stephen Mitchell, a character actor, and visiting guest artist, appears as Adam, who is a bit miffed when Eve names all the animals.
Mark Twain published "Adam's Diary" in 1904. In 1905, "Eve's Diary" was published in Harper's Bazaar. Ultimately the two were bound together under the title "The Diaries of Adam and Eve, As Translated by Mark Twain." This hilarious take on what may have happened in the Garden of Eden is also a love story, as Twain based Adam on himself and Eve on his late wife, Livy.
This is a live reading presented by actors, not a fully staged play.
Admission: $15.00 per person. For tickets, go to the Limelight Theatre's website.
