Limelight Theatre presents Rhinoceros, a provocative play written by the French playwright Eugène Ionesco, from Thursday, May 28 through Sunday, June 15, 2025. The Sunday shows begin at 2:00 p.m.; all the other shows start at 7:30 p.m.

Rhinoceros premiered in 1959 in Dusseldorf and has been described as a "post-war avant-garde drama." In the United States, it premiered on Broadway in 1061, starring Eli Wallach, Anne Jackson, and Jean Stapleton.

During the three-act play all but one of the inhabitants of a small French town change from being human, into a rhinoceros. Bérenger, a less revered member of the town, does not become a rhinoceros and is criticized by others for obsessing over their metamorphosis. The play was seen as a critique of the rise of Fascism and Nazism before World War II. It explores several themes including conformity, fascism, mob mentality, philosophy, and morality.
