Matanzas Inlet and Beach Walk

The National Park Service and Fort Matanzas offer the Matanzas Inlet and Beach Walk on two Thursdays in March: March 14 and 28, 2019. Participants will meet at the Matanzas Inlet Parking Lot and the tour will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Participants will be led through the Matanzas Inlet shores while they learn about inlet dynamics and movements of sand. The tour will include fascinating information about seashells, sea birds, coquina rock, dune vegetation, heavy minerals, mollusks, the habits of crabs, and the ever-changing shoreline.

Admission: FREE. Reservations are NOT required.

When: Two Thursdays in March: March 14 and 28, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Event is subject to cancellation due to weather.

Where: Participants can meet their guide at the Matanzas Inlet Parking Lot, located on the west side of A1A just north of the Inlet bridge, at 8655 A1A S, St Augustine FL 32080.
