The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents the Mike Stern Trio in concert on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. Mike Stern will also participate in a special guitar clinic for local musicians at 5:00 p.m., with a chance for participants to open the show for the concert that evening.
Acclaimed jazz guitarist Mike Stern has gained a stellar reputation among fellow musicians, music critics, and fans over his four-decade career. He has played with Blood Sweat & Tears, Billy Cobham, Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, and Joe Henderson, and has been nominated for six Grammy awards.
According to International Herald Tribune music critic Mike Zwerin, "Mike Stern is one of the best electric guitarists of his generation." He was presented with Guitar Player magazine's Certified Legend Award on January 21, 2012.
The Mike Stern Trio includes drummer Richie Morales and bassist Teymur Phell.
Guitar Clinic
In addition to the evening concert, the Ronan School of Music and Flying Saucer Presents are hosting a guitar clinic with Mike Stern. The 90-minute clinic will begin at 5:00 p.m. The winner selected from the clinic participation will open the evening's show with a short set. Tickets for the Guitar Clinic are limited, and are $40.00 per person.
Admission: Tickets are $48.50 for the first 6 rows; $38.50 for all remaining rows. The Guitar Clinic is an additional $40.00.
When: Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Guitar Clinic begins at 5:00 p.m.
Where: The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is located at 1050 A1A North in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Parking Information: Parking will be available onsite. There will be a $5 parking fee for ticketed events and for free events parking will also be free. For events not produced by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, parking fees will be at the discretion of the event producer.
