Nature Journaling at GTM Research Reserve
(904) 380-8600The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTMNERR) invites guests to join nature journaling instructor, Elaine Bergstrom, on the first Thursday of every month, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, to explore the wonders of the reserve. This monthly event offers participants the opportunity to connect with nature through the art of journaling, using words, pictures, and numbers to capture and learn more about the environment around them. Each session focuses on a different topic, providing new insights and experiences.
Participants should meet at the Trailhead Pavilion picnic tables and are advised to wear appropriate outdoor clothing, dress in layers, and prepare for any weather. It’s recommended to bring a reusable water bottle, hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, and binoculars. Dogs are welcome, provided they remain on a leash and owners clean up after them.
After the event, participants can explore the six hiking trails at the GTM Trailhead Pavilion or visit the GTM Visitor Center, which is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
