From Oct. 28, 2013 - Jan. 5, 2014
The explorers of centuries past had no idea what they would encounter when venturing out to the 'New World' and neither did the Native Americans when the explorers landed. The moment these two worlds, 'old' and 'new', collided the world changed forever.
The Natives and explorers from Europe learned new ways of life from one another and the images from this collision of worlds are some of the most compelling in our shared history. Pictures of the indigenous peoples and animals are some of the fascinating evidence of this culture shock. See this and more at the New World in the Eyes of Explorers exhibition.
