New Years Hike at Faver-Dykes State Park

Celebrate the New Year at Faver-Dykes State Park on the interpretive trail hike! This First Day Out Guided Hike will be led by Florida Park Ranger, Celena Chalkley. The trial will be 0.5 miles long and will loop around the picnic area and wind along the pine flatwoods into the scrub along Pellicer Creek.

Visitors to the First Day Out Hike will learn about the native wildlife to the park, the natural growing flora and fauna as well as hear a brief historical overview of the area. Participants will also see the current ecosystem restoration techniques being utilized by the Florida Park Service.

Those who wish to participate: Recommended to bring a camera, water, sunscreen, bug repellant, comfortable walking shoes and a picnic lunch to enjoy before or after the hike.
