From August 17 to October 25 at the St. Augustine Visitors Center.
In commemoration of St. Augustine's 450th, local artist Don Trousdell presents 30 folksy and colorful paintings representing 30 'ordinary' people that came to the New World and settled St. Augustine. Each painting depicts a real person and tells why and when they left Spain, what their job would be in St. Augustine, and a short history of what was going on in the in world and in Spain at that time that pertains to that settler.
The educational exhibit combines mixed media to portray each person accurately and creatively. The whole exhibit will be packaged as a traveling exhibition to journey around the state and share the story of St. Augustine with all of Florida. Admission is FREE and the Visitors Center is open from 9 am - 5 pm daily. For more information call (904) 825-1000 or visit http://staugustine-450.com/ordinary-people-exhibit/ .
