Paddleboarding for Beginners
Here's a great chance to try out stand-up paddleboarding, complete with all the tips and techniques you need to go out on your own.
Anastasia State Park, in partnership with Anastasia Watersports, offers a Paddleboarding for Beginners class on Saturday, March 9, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The class is designed to make it easy for beginners to learn the basics of stand-up paddleboarding. The beginners paddleboards used in the class are small, and only four paddlers go out at one time. Resident paddleboard guru Kurt shares everything from how to carry a paddleboard to correct paddling technique and tips for reading the weather and tides. After the lesson, participants can enjoy an hour-long paddle on Salt Run.
Admission: The program is $45.00 per person. Park admission rates also still apply: $8.00 per vehicle (limit 8 people), $4.00 per single-occupant vehicle, and $2.00 for pedestrians, bicyclists, and extra passengers.
