It will be a salty night on January 25, 2025, at the Pecha Kucha event, when the St. Augustine Chapter hosts "Release the Kraken: Tales from the Deep," beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the Front Porch of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
The evening begins with a social hour at 5:30, during which the audience and speakers can mingle and enjoy food and drink available for purchase. The presentations start at 6:30 p.m. Several speakers will each take six minutes and forty seconds to share stories and slides about their experiences at sea — or perhaps under it.
For over 10 years, the St. Augustine chapter of Pecha Kucha has presented local people sharing personal stories several times during the year. At PK events, pre-selected presenters discuss their thoughts on the evening's theme, showing 20 slides and speaking about each one for 20 seconds before moving on to the next. This 20X20 format enables each presenter six minutes and 40 seconds to speak.
During any Pecha Kucha Night, the audience can expect to learn, laugh, empathize, and be surprised.
Admission: While this is technically a free event. The Pecha Kucha chapter suggests a $20.00 donation to help defray the costs.
