Romanza Presents ...

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., the Romanza Festivale presents visual artist David Ouellette, discussing his art at a wine and cheese event. This event takes place at the Voorhees Mission House, in the courtyard of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church.

After David earned his Master of Fine Arts in Painting at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, he taught at the University of Michigan and showed his work in local galleries and museums. Since moving to St. Augustine in 1981, David has continued to teach, paint, and sell his art. He is a professor of Fine Arts, Painting, Design, and Art History at St. Johns River State College in St. Augustine.

While David's paintings may appear abstract, each depicts a particular subject. David has said, "My painting is the visual arts expression of the human experience." David has several patrons, and his work has often been accepted for critically acclaimed exhibits. He has exhibited art in St. Augustine, Naples, and Pittsburgh.

When talking about his work, David describes his influences and those who have inspired him. He most often uses enamels because they are glossy and set up quickly, which gives an immediacy to the work.

When: Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
