Romanza Presents ...

On Friday, May 9, 2025, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m., the Romanza Festivale presents the spring concert of the St. Augustine Orchestra at Tocoi Creek High School.

For their spring concert, the orchestra features short, light pieces for orchestra, including Leroy Anderson's The Typewriter. The composer became well-known when Boston Pops Conductor Arthur Fiedler featured Anderson's new compositions in concerts. John Williams said Anderson was "one of the masters of light orchestral music." This concert, called "Leroy Anderson and Friends," includes other works by Anderson, Morton Gould's American Salute, Blue Tango, and other light orchestral compositions.

The St. Augustine Orchestra has more than 50 volunteer members who enjoy sharing their love of music with the community. In addition to providing live performances several times a year, orchestra members offer instruction to young musicians, and frequently present talented youth from area schools as soloists in their concerts.

Admission: $30.00 for adults, $15.00 for students ages 6 to 17, and free for children ages five and younger. Purchase tickets in advance, here, or at the door on the night of the performance.

When: Thursday, March 13, at 8:00 p.m.
