Ponte Vedra Concert Hall will present folk revivalist Shakey Graves in concert on Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
The "Gentleman from Texas," as Shakey Graves bills himself, is actually a Austin, Texas native Alejandro Rose-Garcia, who crafted his on-stage persona as a private creative outlet. Graves' powerful stage presence and storytelling talent have since brought him national acclaim. The New York Times recently commented that "he makes the one-man band approach look effortless." He now tours with a backing band and sells out major venues around the country.
Graves has appeared on Conan and Letterman, was featured in an episode of Austin City Limits, and recently won the Americana Music Association's "Emerging Artist of the Year" award. His most recent album is And The War Came.
Americana musician Son Little was born Aaron Livingston in Los Angeles. His career has brought him to New York and New Jersey, where he first performed as Son Little with his acclaimed EP, Things I Forgot. His first full-length album, Son Little, was praised by NPR Music for his ability to recombine his music al influences into something entirely new.
