The St. Augustine Maritime Heritage Foundation will present a traditional Spanish Colonial Pig Roast on Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The feast will be held on the grounds of the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park.
This heritage and culture event is part of the 2019 Romanza Festivale of Music and the Arts. The dinner, featuring a selection of sides, salad, dessert, and beverages,will be held in the Fountain of Youth's Pavilion, so the event will take place rain or shine. Beer and wine will be available with a suggested donation.
The St. Augustine Maritime Heritage Foundation commemorated St. Augustine's 450th anniversary by building a "chalupa," a replica of a Hispanic sailing vessel that was much in use around the time of the founding of the nation's oldest city. The Foundation continues to sponsor projects that highlight the rich heritage of St. Augustine.
