Sundays with the St. Augustine Music Festival (SAMF) presents brothers Jordan Taylor on guitar and Michah Taylor on cello performing at the St. Augustine Arts Association on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The brothers lived in Ghana for 14 years and have researched the West African traditional music of the Mande Kingdom. Jordan Taylor founded the Ghana National Music Festival in 2015 to encourage and inspire the young people of Ghana toward a music career. 

The program on May 5, "Giving Voice to Lost Music," could include Three Nigerian Folksongs, a traditional Asante piece called Kesewa, and Music of the Griot. Each piece presented is a traditional song from West Africa. Most works performed are from the Griot tradition, dating back to the 12th century. The Griot is a class of people native to the Mande Kingdom who were musician historians.

This event is part of the Romanza Festivale of Music and the Arts, an annual festival of two weeks of historical, cultural, and creative events celebrating all things St. Augustine.
