Sweet Charity is a musical originally choreographed and directed by Bob Fosse for Broadway. The musical was the winner of the 1986 Tony for Best Revival and is presented by the Flagler College Department of Theatre Arts.
What's it About?: This whimsical musical takes the audience through the ups and downs of the main character, Charity Hope Valentine's, love life. Featuring popular hits like "Big Spender" and "Rich Man's Frug" dance sequence. Charity works as a taxi dancer at a dance hall and is hopeful about her chances to find love even though she consistenly looks for it in all the wrong places.The musical is based on Federico Fellini's screenplay for Nights of Cabiria.Music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Dorothy Fields and book by Neil Simon. Sweet Charity will pull you in, and by the end of the play you'll be rooting for her!
Admission: Tickets are $20 for reserved seating. Students with ID are $10. Tickets can be purchased at the box office before each show.Showtimes: 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1-2; and 2 p.m. Nov. 3.Venue: The musical takes place at the Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College located at 14 Granada St., St. Augustine.
