"Thanksgiving for Homeless Pets" Fundraiser

During First Friday Artwalk bring a bag of commercial dog or cat food or a $10 donation to High Tide Gallery and receive a gallery discount on any purchases throughout the holiday season! This pet fundraiser benefits the local animal shelters in St. Augustine, including S.A.F.E, Wags & Whiskers, Ayla's Acres and Second Chance Rescue. With a special focus on Second Chance Rescue, which has helped animals for 25 years.

 Enjoy live music from the band Salt Driven Ride from 5 - 9 p.m. and the whimsical pet artist Mark Durham will be featured. High Tide Gallery may also have shelter dogs on site as well during this event.

 Salt Driven Ride is a local St. Augustine band with an eclectic taste. Enjoy their great covers as well as their own original music! The band plays something everyone to enjoy. Their musical influences include Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Southern Culture on the Skids, Grateful Dead, Phish, Marcy Playground and many more.

 Thanksgiving for Homeless Pets is not a new event at High Tide Gallery. In June 2013 they held a similar fundraiser and managed to raise $300 and over 300 lbs of pet food to stock the local shelters through summer.

S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue, Inc. was founded in September 2008 with the goal of saving adoptable dogs and cats from euthanasia in Northeast Florida. They focus their efforts on rescuing adoptable pets from facilities that are unable to house them indefinitely. Wags & Whiskers Pet Rescue is a non-profit, No-Kill pet rescue and adoption agency located. They are a small, dedicated group of volunteers working hard to ensure that every animal in the local community can find the perfect home.  Ayla's Acres and Second Chance pet rescue has been serving the St. Augustine community for 25 years! They are a non-kill animal rescue and operate on 45-acre sanctuary located in Greenville, FL that is managed by full-time, dedicated and experienced resident caretakers. Many of the 300 animals have come from area humane societies that had no room or the animals were un-adoptable. They are currently running out of enough funding for their operations and would appreciate any help!
