Brendan Nolan
Brendan Nolan is a true Dubliner who moved to North America to pursue his musical career.
Brendan Nolan was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. A resurgence of interest in Irish music had taken off in North America, which shaped the future of Nolan's life. In 1979, Brendan Nolan moved to Canada, where he headlined concerts at acoustic venues and performed at festivals such as Winnipeg, London Home County, Miramichi, and Lunenburg Folk Harbour Fest. In his time he has released eight albums, the latest one being Live at the Side Door from 2013.
Nolan's songs express a deep sensitivity through storytelling, and he has gotten a lot of recognition for them. His song "North of the Rio Grande" was published in a school textbook in Norway, and "Far From Their Home" is in the National Archives of Ireland and the National Library of Canada. Today, Nolan lives in St. Pete Beach, Florida, and he continues playing at festivals and writing music.
