Caribe Groove
A diverse Latin American band that provides a unique Caribbean sound to their audiences.
Caribe Groove is a four-man band with members from Venezuela, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Mariangel Rosales plays bass guitar and is a vocalist for the band, Awilda Quezada is lead vocalist, James Torres plays guitar and Andrés Guzmán plays the drums. Because of their diverse backgrounds, the band is influenced by a wide variety of music including rock, funk, hip-hop, cumbia, salsa, merengue, latin jazz and afro-Latin rhythms. Some of their favorite musicians are Carlos Santana, La Fania All Stars, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones and Manu Chao, which makes rock one of their favorite genres to perform. Latin music, however, is their most representative and contagious genre, and they are influenced by artists such as Fonsi, Shakira, Selena, Carlos Vives and Enrique Iglesias to name a few. Additionally, they love playing music by Marc Anthony, Angie Stone, Alicia Keys and John Legend. The musical diversity of this group is hard to match. The band got together in 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida, since then they have grown and play in nearby cities and love coming to St. Augustine.
