Cat Ridgeway and the Tourists
Cat Ridgeway and the Tourists wows with soul and charisma.
Cat Ridgeway isn't just one of those run-of-the-mill started-at-age-eight, recorded-in-the-fifth-grade, plays-ten-instruments kind of person; Cat is a powerhouse to be reckoned with. Currently playing with four to six people, known as “Cat Ridgeway and the Tourists,” the band will be in St. Augustine for the annual Sing Out Loud festival.
First influenced by an older brother who was learning guitar, Cat began writing songs, and won an open mic contest before she was in her teens. Her folks had to get permission for her to participate, but they supported their daughter, as they say, she "was singing before she could talk." Cat led out with “Chain Of Fools,” made popular in 1968 by Aretha Franklin, and blew them away.
Known for her strong work ethic, Cat has 22 songs available on iTunes, and another hundred in the works. Cat says, “My brain is like constantly spitting little snippets of melodies out.” Recently voted "Orlando's Best Singer/Songwriter" and "Best Rock Act," this high-energy performer wows audiences with her soulful vocals and charismatic stage presence.
