Catch the Groove
“Hey did you catch that groove I just did?” just like that, that phrase became the perfect name for the funked-up, rhythm driven band.
Catch the Groove is a large, diverse group of talented musicians from Jacksonville, Florida. Ellis White, founder of the group, launched the band in 2010 as a vocal-guitar-sax trio and a couple of years later a trumpeter, percussionist, and drummer joined the band. Each member has an alternating lead voice and plays two instruments to create a rich melody and harmony that is the band's distinctive sound. Catch the Groove performs throughout Northeast Florida. Since they have been together, the group has released a guitar-driven, funk, soul, and jazz-oriented debut album titled Smilin' In Paradise.
