Doug Hyde aka "The Dougernaught"
A friend to every musician in town who has gathered a following for his one-man shows.
If you hang out in the local arts and performance spaces, you have probably run into Doug Hyde. He has participated in improv, attended countless musical events, and is an unwavering and exuberant supporter of the performing arts in St. Johns County.
Originally from Gainesville, Doug is also a musician, singer, songwriter, and guitarist with a warm and rich voice. He only recently started sharing that voice with the public, taking the stage at Marina Munch and other local venues. He also joins other musicians at various events around town.
Doug tends to sit in that comfortable spot of singing covers we all know and love, and a few covers that have been overlooked. He’s a student of music and hosts a weekly show on Flagler College Radio, where his playlist can run the gamut of music from the 50s and before to the present day. Under the radio moniker of "The Dougernaught," Doug plays “smoking’ hot blues and jam,” every Wednesday from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. on WFCF, 88.5.
All that music swirling around has to be heard, and Doug is the man to make that happen, either on the radio, or on a local stage.
