Electric Avenue is a 1980's tribute band dedicated to the artists who stepped outside of the music-genre-box.
A 1980's edgy tribute band, Electric Avenue, performs music from the 80's bands that blurred the lines in music during a time when stepping in and out of the box was more the norm than it even is today. That said, it is what makes this 2022 tribute band stand out from the rest. Choosing the "new wave" groups, Electric Avenue plays hits from Depeche Mode and Devo, exploring what the bands set out to do, and in some cases, taking it a step further. While Depeche Mode is impossible to top, Electric Avenue dares to bring their style back with "Strange Love" as well as performing songs like "Whip It" by Devo, adding in today's technological advancements and incorporating them on stage.
Another popular 1980's band, Tears for Fears, gets the Electric Avenue revamp with a faster beat and added instrumental notes to the mix. With a primary purpose in mind, Electric Avenue reminds audiences of a time when risk-taking was on the verge of paving an alternate road for a new genre of music.
