Hogtown Creek
As regulars at the iconic Tradewinds Lounge, Hogtown Creek brings St. Augustine a melting pot of Americana, Bluegrass, and Old-Time music, with some pretty corny jokes thrown in.
The Springfield family took the opportunity of retirement and turned it into a beautiful suite of tunes which they offer to folks around St. Augustine on a regular basis. Playing Americana, Bluegrass and Old-Time music, with a few original songs thrown in, ("You're Already My Wife" will melt your heart.)
With family banter and corny jokes, this accomplished group of musicians bring a lighter side to their musical styles that reflect the realities of working with the same folks you'll be seeing at the Thanksgiving dinner table. Jim Springfield plays guitar, harmonica and vocals, his wife Patty sings and plays guitar, Whit Springfield plays banjo and guitar, and Dempsey Springfield plays bass.
As regulars at the iconic Tradewinds Lounge, Hogtown Creek represents their homeland of a small creek in the center of Gainesville, where the brothers spent their youth mucking around in the Hogtown Creek bed with crawdads and ancient artifacts.
Jim can be heard on Saturday mornings hosting "Radio Free Oklawaha County" on WFCF, and his wife Patty's children's literature demonstrates her talent as an author.
