Liz Rose

A songwriter who has written songs for Bonnie Raitt, Taylor Swift, and more.

Liz Rose has said that she “tumbled” into being a songwriter. It’s not something she planned to do, but she had kids to support and it worked.

Liz has written 16 songs with, and for, Taylor Swift—earning a 2010 Grammy for “White Horse." She has written songs that have been hits for Tim McGraw and Little Big Town—earning a Grammy in 2016 for “Girl Crush." Liz has written songs with, and for, Alison Krauss, Blake Shelton, Bonnie Raitt, and many other top stars, selling more than 20 million copies. In addition to the Grammy awards, Liz has won an ACM award and a SESAC Songwriter of the Year award.

She also has a publishing company, Liz Rose Music, where she helps burgeoning songwriters make their way to writing songs that tell their stories.

Her newest project is the album, Swimming Alone, 10 songs written by Liz, and performed by Liz Rose and friends. She said, “I’m not a great singer, but I love to sing and these are my stories.”
