Maddy Walsh, songwriter and lead singer of Maddy Walsh and The Blind Spots, has a unique style that includes a bit of pop, a strong folk influence, and a sound that has a bit of an edge and a hint of metal.
She performs as a solo act, as a duo with guitarist Mike Suave, and with the group The Blind Spots — Mike Suave on guitar, Aaron Fumarola on drums, Sam Lupowitz on keyboards, Mandy Goldman on backing vox, and Michael Wu on bass.
From Ithica New York, Maddy's joy in life and commitment to her own sense of ethics and consciousness are often reflected in her songs. The band's genre was defined by Maddy as "Moxy Rock," her term for their "punchy, danceable, indie-pop sound." Maddy and the Blind Spots has appeared at events that also featured Steve Earle, the Punch Brothers, Donna the Buffalo, Eddie Money, and Twisted Roots.
