Marshall Bailey in white cap and Hawaiian shirt, singing at a microphone with his guitar

Marshall Bailey

A sound grounded in Delta blues, encompassing several decades of rock music.

Born in Clarksdale Mississippi, just a few miles from where Robert Johnson is said to have sold his soul to the devil, Marshall's earliest musical influences were Delta blues.

He took classical guitar lessons from Gary Smith and earned a musical scholarship to Jimmy Buffett's alma mater, the University of Southern Mississippi. While studying music, he also taught and was a guitar instructor at Ronnies Music in Pearl, Mississippi.

He has continued to play music, and somewhere along the way, earned his doctorate in dentistry and became known in some circles as "Dr. Tooth." As a musician, he performs solo, and with other musicians, mostly focusing on blues and rock. His dexterity at the guitar has been in demand, and Marshall has played with several of rock's best drummers, and locally as a member of the popular band, Big Papa Fish. In addition, he has been a guest on the local stage with some of St. Augustine's best-known musicians, including Smokin' Joe Schauer.

As a solo artist, Marshall delights the audience and is a stand-out for his guitar skills.
