Mathias Lattin

Founded in jazz and nestled in the blues, Mathias Lattin is an award-winning guitarist.

Coming out of the gate with a Best Guitarist award, along with first place in the Band Category of the International Blues Challenge 2023 is a great start to a young man's music career. Mathias said that it is "an honor to represent Houston, Texas" in the revered competition in Memphis at the age of only 20, where he took top honors. First influenced by B.B. King, Albert Collins, Johnny "guitar" Watson, and Wes Montgomery, Lattin's music took its own course, which has propelled him on his musical journey.

Educated through the Houston ISD Fine Arts magnet program, Mathias studied jazz and segued over to the blues, where he clearly embraced the new sound and has been phenomenally recognized for it. Lattin's previous band was Untitled, which was recognized at the International Blues Challenge in 2018 as the Houston Blues Society's Youth Showcase band. He later toured with Tavia Brooks, and with the Keeshea Pratt Band. Mathias currently fronts the Mathias Lattin Group on tour.
