Matthew Fowler writes songs about his life — and about our lives.
From Orlando, singer/songwriter Matthew Fowler released his debut album in 2014. It was comprised of songs written when he was 14-19 years old and his first tour began shortly after.
Reviewers, fans, and fellow musicians have lauded Matthew for his songcraft, his use of language, and his ability to share his experiences in song in a way that impacts all who listen.
Matthew has performed on a number of NPR and college stations, and has opened for Sea Wolf, Angel Olsen, Richard Thompson, and many others. In an interview with GEMS in Nashville, Matthew talked about being a songwriter: "It's sort of a grandiose thing to think that you could, like, write songs that people want to listen to it enough to buy it .. and that you live off that. right? That's sort of a vain thing to do. There's a part of that and then there's a part of you like ... that's all you want to do, it's all you can do."
