The New Mastersounds

Essentially a touring band that spends much time in the studio, the New Mastersounds is your basic four-man band from Leeds, United Kingdom. Well, not so basic. As one of the most prolific jazz bands that embraces a funky / soul sound, they have a dozen albums to date, and continue to tour around the world. Frequently recording with no overdubs and no guests, they play only organ, bass, guitar, and drums. From this, they create a new, pure sound.

A tight group of jazz-fusion / funk musicians who know their way around scores; this four-piece band weaves a delightful textile of authentic and scorching sets. Through many years of late-night shows at clubs during the New Orleans Jazz Festival weeks, the New Mastersounds has become a staple, while executing sizzling grooves. Fans love the danceability of the sound, and the band absorbs the crowd's infectious force.

Starting out with a very long run at the Jazz Cafe in London (five years), they took the show on the road, and have not looked back. Some of the members have even re-homed to America. They continue to delight listeners in many countries, and they go back into the studio to add to their catalog.
