Rough & Tumble
A nationally touring duo bringing Americana to listening rooms and house concerts.
The Rough & Tumble (R&T) duo is a fresh face on the conventional vision of road dog performers, performing primarily original tunes, but with a few covers thrown in. Mallory Graham and Scott Tyler are an Americana-playing pair who spend most of their time on the road, bringing their counterbalanced vocals to listening rooms and house concerts nationwide.
They refer to some of their songs as contemporary hymns, and while Biblical references abound, they are not overtly preachy. This theme continues in the recent song, "Hallelujah of the Ordinary" from the album, Hymns for My Atheist Sister & Her Friends to Sing Along To. R&T has a recurring production called "Sunday Service," on which they play instruments and sing a sermonette.
From a nose flute to accordion, some variations on a banjo, and stunning vocals, The Rough & Tumble accompany their compositions, embodying the themes of inclusion and acceptance. Singing the familiar song, "The River," Graham's vocals echo Joni Mitchell's sound, demonstrating the band's ability to dive right into your soul.
