Bringing improvisational jamming to an art form.
Spafford hails from the hot city of Tuscon, Arizona which is fast becoming "jam central" to the touring band set. Live performances showcase the band's instinctive communication on stage, as they segue from one song to the next with a look or a note. When asked about their ability to improvise, the integral characteristic they mention is each member's ability to listen and anticipate what comes next.
The current lineup includes founding member, Brian Moss (on electric guitar and vocals), and, Shon Gordon (bass guitar and vocals), Nick Tkachyk (drums and vocals), and Cory Schectman, on keys.
Never playing the song the same way twice, the band also revises their set list for every show, which never ceases to amaze and entertain their core fans. Known as the Spaffnerds, this fan group follows the band's website to find upcoming set lists, complete with references and annotations.
This band's prolific discography includes almost two dozen albums, of which more than half are recorded live.
